- Admitting that abuse happens in the LGBTTQQ communities may be denied or may be seen as a betrayal of the community itself – that revealing abuse may strengthen misconceptions and oppression of the LGBTTQQ communities.
- Reporting sexual abuse within a LGBTTQQ relationship may be more embarrassing due to misconceptions and institutionalized homophobia heterosexism.
